I have a movie file, a TC XviD, which is of good quality both in audio and video. There are no synch problems at all when I play it on my pc, but when I burnt it to dvd using Nero 6.6 and then tried playing it on a dvd player, the audio began a good 10 minutes before the video. The movie then stays that way ( 10 minutes out of synch ). I have used Nero for a couple of years now and pretty well know what I am doing with it, that, plus the fact that other files I have burnt before and after, have been fine, lead me to think that it is the file that is somehow corrupt. Tried writing to hard drive first and then burning the files but had same problem. Also tried using DVD Clone but it made no difference. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if they have did they find a solution ? Thanks for any help.

Try using a different converter such as ConvertXtoDVD. Then burn with that or Nero. Post back your results.

Yep, convertXtoDVD worked just fine. Thanks for your help, I read elsewhere that it may be a Vbr problem, but Im afraid that I have no clue what that means !!

VBR stand for varible bit rate. From the Glossary:
Variable bit rate (VBR) is a term used in telecommunications and computing that relates to sound quality. As opposed to constant bit rate (CBR), VBR files vary the amount of output data per time segment. VBR allows a higher bit rate (and therefore more storage space) to be allocated to the more complex segments of sound files while less space is allocated to less complex segments. The average of these rates is calculated to produce an average bit rate for the file that will represent its overall sound quality.

MP3, WMA, Vorbis, and AAC files can optionally be encoded with VBR

And your welcome. :)
