How can i disable my internet connection to keep people from using it when im not there? I tryed releasing my ip address but this stupid little icon in the corner pops up and with a simple click re-enables it. Anyone know how i can get around this and still be able to re-enable it when i want to?

What type of connections do you have (cable, dsl, dial-up)? Do you want others to be able to use the computer at all when your not there?

one way to really fuke em up is to set up a faulty proxy connection through your browser and any other app you can configure, either that, or take the modem with you :D, perhaps you could delete the internet connection and re-setup it when you want to use it

sorry, i have a cable modem. I want people to be able to use the computer but not the Internet. Ip release would do fine if it weren't for that stupid little icon in the task bar that reconnects it for you.

Depends on who you're up against. If they don't know anything about connections, you can just simply set your default connection to a phone modem.

If they are more advanced, lock your Admin logins, and set up a user account that doesn't have access to the internet.

in internet options in control panel. just remove network cable from modem to computer or disable netcard in device manager.
