How To Open A Previously Saved .srt Subrip File

I ripped my subtitles using subrip and saved the file a few days ago. Now I want to open that .srt file in subrip and split the subtitles to 2 cd's. I cannot figure out how to open the previously saved .srt file.

I can rip the vob's all over again but I really don't want to keep the vob's on my HDD as they take up so much space. And it seems stupid to have to do it again.

I am sure this is easy but I can't figure it out. Anyone that can help????
