WLAN broken, not a noob question

OK, first off this is not a "how do I get online with my PSP?" question. I know how and I have on other peoples PSPs but I cannot on mine. I have NEVER seen the green light for WLAN. If the switch is on and I attempt to scan to find an access point I get "A connection error has occured." Even when I do gamesharing or multiplayer I cannot get a connection. If anyone has experienced this and solved it or if anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I do not have a warranty.

Let me rephrase, let's say the PSP's WLAN is broken, what do I need to do to replace it and is it difficult, thanks.
