can someone recommend some good software for converting .ogg files to mpg? I've tried a few cheap ones and they keep coming back with error messages.
If anyone knows of some software that works well, that would be great.

Despite the name OggDS is basically a set of ogm filters. It can handle vorbis only ogg's though. Also 0.9.9.6 was actually based on I think 0.9.9.3 since Tobias lost the sources for 0.9.9.5.

Well, seems like i'm not the only one getting probs with this ogg thing... Celtic you seem to understand this OGG/OGM thing quite well... I downloaded some content and what i thought to be an AVI file it's actually an OGG file... Now, the only app that 'handles' these files (as far as i know!) is WinAvi. And no, i don't like it either...

[EDIT] Made it stick with the installation of the K-Lite Mega pack:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

It contains all the codecs that i had before plus a few more, you will have to unistall those ones you have as well. (the K-lite installation pack will prompt you straight to it)
Done the conversion to Avi and i'm now ready to put it onto DVD. It didn't loose a lot of quality, but there is a slight loss. I haven't tried to convert directly to DVD using NVE, but i would risk saying it will work...

If it ain't broken it doesn't need fixing...

If it has XviD video, then it can't be an ogg file. Probably an ogm.

ogm != ogg and there is no such thing as OGG (all caps). There are plenty of apps other than WinAVI that support ogm files. In fact if I understand correctly, win AVI doesn't natively support ogm, it is just rendering them via dshow?
