My dvd-r video doesn't work on my ps2!!!

I have already read the post about dvd-r movies on ps2 without modchip or similiar and I used a deep purple dvd-r but it doesn't work on my ps2 (latest model).
It's a LG dvd-r: is it bad or is my ps2 that has something wrong?
I tested the dvd on a dvd home player and it works...

Give us a few clues as to what you are doing, and waht media you are using. However, to gvie you a clue, I too have a PS2.

I used to backup my DVDs no problem, they always played fine on my settop box (Pioneer 444) Then, one day, I tried a disc on the PS2. No play.

Bottom line was, I used to use Nero to burn the DVD, (straight VOB set stuff) not any more.

Now, I create a disc Image, and use Ulead DVD Factory. All backuops now play on the PS2 (& the Pioneer)
