hey guys, i'm desperately in need of help. here's the story:
i was installing a game on my computer. after i install it, i tried to play the game. but my computer froze. so i did the ctrl alt delete thing. then i ended the program, but i saw that the cpu usage is still high so i went to the processes tab and accidently ended something that starts with an 'exxxxxx' after that, almost all of my icons didn't have it's original picture.
for example, winamp is a lightening bolt, but now and most of the other icons have another icon pic like a piece of paper with a small window in the middle. i know it's hard to imagine, you know when windows can't recongnise a program/file it has 'that' icon?
so i freaked out not knowing what to do. so i just restart my computer. and weird stuff just popped up. like when i clicked my IE icon, it pops a message saying :
Windows cannot open this file:
file: Internet Explorer.lnk
and the 2 options of whether to search it on the web or choose from the list.
and now i can't even open my IE window. i know you're thinking then how can i type to you. well i just picked the search for it in the web option and cried out here for help!!
please help me... i'm just so depress right now. i even tried the system restore thing but when i typed :C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\rstrui.exe in the run bar, it pops up the same window.
even my icons beside my clock is gone!
please please please help me... would be GREATLY apprieciated
