Does it turn on?
Does it spin the disc?
Is your av plugged in?
Answer these and it will be much easier for people who read this to identify the problem

iS THERE SOUND?
IT IS IS MOST PROBABLY THE MOTHERBOARD 60% SURE SO ITS INTERNALLY DAMAGED IF IT JUST TURNS ON N DOSNT DO NOHTIN AT FIRST I THOUGHT OYUR AV CABLES WERENT GOOD ANY MORE BUT NOW IT SOUNDS MORE LIKE A TECHINAL ISSUE
IS THEER SOUND?
TRY ANOTHER GAME
TRY PLUG IT INTO ANOTHER TV?
CAN U HEAR THE DISC SPIN WHEN ITS ON?
DOES THE TRAY EJECT ( DNT ANSWER TIS IF U HAVE A SLIMLINE)

Try another componet slots. Or if you have another consol make sure that it is not the TV

the best thing to do if trying it in a different component slot dont work is to take it to a technician or someone u no knows about computer reparing and ask them to check whats wrong
But first try everything you can befrore taking it to the technician or buying i new one if you choose

Hey Im just curious, If the laser carraige is non operational, will the browser screen still come up? I'm yet to kill a console, I still have my Atari 2600 lol.

need some answers
My old ps2 fat v9 bout 20 days ago i got told that the motherboard and laser are dead but what i dont get it still turns on but dosent read any discs you can still change the settings and go into browser but the guy said the motherboard is dead i dont belive this 100% cause it turns on could som1 plz reply to this

The controller port ribbon might been broken & about it only play blue disk i dunno wtf is going on cause ps2 have the most problem playing blue bottom disk. Most never play them and only play the silver ones

If the laser is not operational the browser screen will still show up, it works independently.
So, anyways, if there is nothing on the screen, how do you know that the PS2 is on?
