why cant i watch streaming video?

i can watch videos that i can download somtimes, 50% the time mediaplayer crashes though, and i cant watch and internet videos at all? ive downloaded all in one codec packs and k lite codec pack, thetes direct x, media player , flash and my videocard drivers and i still cant watch video?? BTW everything worked fine until i had to erase my hd and reload windows last week. any ideas?

If you are using FireFox, this plug in should solve your problems ;)

Thanks alot for your reply, i installed the plugin but unfortunatly the problem still exsist. the videos wont play on their own unless i can download them to my HD. the weird thing is that when i right click on the medeia player it always tells me the video cant play because im not connected to the internet?? yet i am?? i even tried it with my firewall turned off and the problem stays. any new ideas???

Can you tell me what OS you are using and what sites (if you want to) that you are trying to watch videos from?

oh yes, im using a recently loaded windows xp pro service pack two, and i can not watch movies on any website like ebaumsworld.com or tremek.com ect.... but the strange thing is that i can watch the movies on youtube.com wtf??? lemme know what you think.

Well, i have MCE 2005 (basically like XP Pro) and i had troubles watching anything on FireFox as well. All the videos would load in
IE7 but not Opera or FireFox. It was a WMP problem and after i reformatted my computer and got the new WMP11 i was able to see most videos but not all. LEt me know if you can see the videos in IE7 cause then maybe we had the same problem.
