Is anyone aware of any freeware similar to AnyDVD that works with DVD Shrink? My 21 day test period for AnyDVD expired and it seemed to work well on encrypted DVDs.
The $39 you will send on AnyDVD is the best investment you can make. It seems to be the simplest way to go. There are other ways to accomplish it, but it takes a lot more steps and I just didn't want to deal with that. I recommend AnyDVD myself.
@dgknp
as 300bowler stated, that combo is what i use also for all my backups. i have never gotten an error from that setup. i do use dvddecrypter to burn with though, which is a great program for burning. it is some extra steps but will work every time if used correctly.
All of my ripping tools are totally FREE, except my "transcoding and encoding" engines, and yes...it works 100% flawlessly. Below is what I mainly used to rip movies.
<<< Method 1 >>>
* DVDFAB Decrypter to rip (FREE, one of the best ripper at the moment).
* VobBlanker (FREE, to "blank out" craps and correct other structural issues.)
* DVD-RB Pro + CCE or Nero Recode 2 to do the job
* Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express to burn
<<< Method 2 >>>
* DVD Decrypter + PSL Plugins to rip (FREE).
* VobBlanker (FREE, to "blank out" unwanted craps and left over junks.
* DVD-RB Pro + CCE or Nero Recode 2 to do the job
* Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express to burn

But AnyDVD is constantly updated and is the best, regardless of price I think it's worth it.
And it is compatible with shrink. Instead of creating an ISO image it make a folder with IFO files in it. All you need to do when you open shrink is to press open folder instead of open disc image. Good luck!
