Has anyone made a nice all in one program to run dos games yet?
My min compaltes about DOS gamening in XP are

Key binding (soem games have stupid key binds and dont want to use a mouse or pad)

Sound issues (most sound issues are by by adjusting the adderss and numbers sicne XP emlautes SB sound to a point )

networking (it would be nice if a dos game could use normal XP networking ,like DOOM co op insted of usieng a modem it will "dail" and ues youer IP config like most newer net games)

Memory (another not to bad to fix is set the emm useage in the program peroperites )

It would be so cool if someone made a program that like a emluator useing diffrent sound fonts for the midi and tweaking the SVGA displey that where you an blur, sharpen,Super eagle,SUper 2 sal and ther video filter tricks......OMG SAVE STATES WOULD RULE TO!!!....*sigh* I am such a hopeless gamer 0-o

But I hate doing this for every finign game,a al in one program that has a wizard and can help you troulbe shoot issues would be worth killing for.

I guess theres always runnign DOS thrue a VM but then will it do sound and other thigns right? *L*

I have not actually tried these but you might want to check out the following if you have not already.

I too would recommend DOSBox. It emulates a DOS PC and sound card. You need to know a little bit about the DOS command line to get the most out of it, but it runs most of my DOS games except the most demanding ones. Using a Front End program like DFend makes setting it up a little easier and allows you to save settings for each game, though make sure you get the latest beta, the older DFend doesn't support the latest configuration options of DosBox 0.65. I routinely run things like Magic Carpet, Crusader No Remorse/Regret, and many old DOS RPGs. The things I have had trouble getting to work are the more demanding games that use a DOS Extender DOS4GW, things like Build Engine games such as Duke 3D, Redneck Rampage and Blood which I can't get running at an acceptable frame rate. Wing Commander III, Daggerfall, and other games towards the end of the DOS era also run very slow, but pretty much anything made for a 386 or 486 runs full speed with sound using DosBox.

You can also run DOS in a VM, though sound is much more trickier to get working. For some reason VMWare emulates a Soundblaster PCI rather than a regular SB16, Soundblaster Pro, or AWE in it's DOS emulation.

YAY!!

Have key bindings been expanded or jsut use the basic crap the game already uses? I found this great keybinding prgram for pads joytech or soemthing it lets you rebind the pad with keybaord or mouse any way you want it!
