I was cleaning out my closet, and found two copies of "Once Upon a Time in America", directed by Sergio Leone. The box art is different on both, and the "Main Movie" size, as reported by DVD Shrink, under "Re-Author" function is different so I assume this is two different versions of this movie. My dilemma is which one of these do I burn, to get the best quality? Both of them seem to be the "director's cut", because they both come to 03:46:57, roughly 3 hrs and 47 minutes. But, using Shrink's "re-author" function, the size of the main movie on one, is reported as 4,012mb, while the size on the other, is 8,024mb (both discs are single-sided). How can this be? If these movies were on hard drives, the answer would be obvious to me, one is compressed, the other isn't. But they are both on the original discs. What gives?

Other is DVD-9 version and other DVD-5 version. That is only reason I can figure out....

And it is better to make backup using that 4,012mb because then you do not need to convert it. You can copy it to your hdd using DVD Decrypter or something like it, and burn it to normal dvd (under 4.36GB)
