Can I copy DVD videos and PS2 games?

I recently bought a new computer with a DVD drive and a DVD+r writer. I have no idea what i need to do to copy things. For example, do DVD movies have protection? If so, how do I copy them so that I can view DVD movies on a dvd player or PS2. Please give me an idea of how I can copy movies. Also, I have seen people talk about copying PS2 games. Can you play copied PS2 games on the system without a mod chip? And also how do you get around the protection on the games to copy them? Any help would be appreciated as I am new to the DVD burning world. Thanks

Should probably refer to copying as backing up pirating is illegal. Well anyway to answer your questions.

1. Yes
2. Using Alcohol 120% or Anyother big name DVD backup software.
3. Yes, the easiest way is to use Alcohol 120%
4. Alcohol will do fine!

Wrong forum room -- this is for DVD-R media quality discussions, not for backup instructions. We have separate rooms for "DVD-R Newbies" and for PS2 users, pay them a visit and you'll find out pretty much everything you need to know.
