Hi i have 2 cd/dvd drives installed & one has DMA on & the other has just turned itself off for some unknown reason.
i have followed alkohols guide (& googled for other ways to turn DMA on) but when i select IDE channel in device manager there is no "advanced" tab (for either IDE channel) which is where alkohols guide says i need to select DMA option (all the other tabs are there except advanced??)

i have to run Nero info tool to find out the DMA status.
firmware is up to date & jumpers are set correctly. i have uninstalled the drivers, drives, ata controller but still have no way to enable DMA
i am running XP & cannot understand why there is no advanced tab.
has anyone ever had this & if so what is the solution?
