The media codes are either RICOHJPND00 or RITEK...D01. Some people have had good results with it, some criticize it's long-term reliability. I personally, always go for Verbatim when it comes to DL, but who knows. Maybe other manufacturers will begin to catch on.

Always use good quality blank media. Verbatim is always a good call. Don't be seduced by those 50-spindles you find in the $2.99 bin at your local car wash! :)

i dont need high qulity discs because i have the TS-H943 samsung xbox360 drive which doesnt have issues reading discs like the hitachi. does anyone know anymore info on them?
as said before they are Made by ritek and code out to be RICOHJPND00 or RITEK D01. These disks work for many people although there are a lot more problems with those disks than Verbatims. Also, dont think you dont need high quality disks just because your drive can read them as using low quality disks will shorten your drives lifespan dramatically (And since they are for your 360 I would be especially cautious as replacement 360 drives are like $150-200.00)! I would suggest you wait for the DL Verbs to go on sale as they are in most peoples opinion the best DLs available as yet.

I have burned about 20 of these Fuji DLs. The media ID is RITEK D01 and they seem to burn play flawlessly. My burner is an NEC ND-3550a and my
DVD players/recorders (Philips DVP-642, Toshiba SD-3750, Panasonic DMR-E50 and some others.)
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

When it comes to blank media and consoles, as Jondrew said, it's even more important to use the better kind as its not as hard on your drive. Also, as far as low quality media is concerned, just because it works today doesn't mean it's going to work as well tomorrow. It's a question of long term reliability. Additionally, one thing to understand about burned media is that the readability is nowhere near as good as on commercially pressed discs. If you look at the "pits" on the disc with a microscope, burning looks very sloppy compared to mechanically pressed discs. This means the drive already has to "work" a little harder when you use recordables. My point is you gotta help your drive as much as you can so that it performs like it should.

well when you put it that way i guess i should get the verbatims. no stores near me have them. i know a manager at a bestbuy and i helped him mod his xbox 360 so he said he could order in some verbatims and let me know if any sales will happen soon.
Ya 360's are expensive i dont want to overwork my drive.
