Well I have bought like 400 of dvd-pro 1x because they are very compatible and very cheap. I didn't try the 4x dvd-pro so I can't tell about it. To be honest I am so please with that media because of the very cheap price that I don't buy any other media. They worked well(I mean very very well) for movies and also ps2 games. But because you are burning with a Sony burner I can't guarantee the results. I'm using a Pionneer A-05 (who loves very cheap media) and heard that the Sony don't really like cheap media like DVD-pro.

I am not sure if this is correct but if not hopefully someone will correct me on it but anyways i think DVDpro is the same media as Princo. I personally have never used DVDpro but if its the same as princo then i recommend it.

Yes PRINCO and DVDPRO are the same. I have been using both with my PIONEER - 104 with no problems at all.

I have used DVDPro time & time again, and generally don't get coasters, but there are some bad batches out there. I have been lucky enough to run into them... Also I notice if I burn to the max of 4.3gig I get skips at the end...

I have the Sony 500AX (internal) and I can tell you it does not like cheap media as general rule -- especially for 4x write. If someone has used non-name brand stuff and had good experiences with the Sony drives, let us know.

I have tried YesBuy.net's generic media -- which does NOT work in the Sony drive (at least mine). Right now, I have had the best luck with Verbatim, Fuji, and TDK. I tend to keep an eye out for rebates or sales on quality name brands I trust -- to me, it's worth the extra cost. And I always buy in spindle form.

Hold on a minute people, DVDPro and Princo are not the same. DVDPro own the media and Princo manufacture them. Princo also manufacture whole dvd's themselves!

A we hint, to recieve a 600 DVD freebie from princo, all you have to do is have a UK or US vat number, that means register as a business, costing next to nothing!

The last batch of Princo 4x disks I bought were DVDPro. ADVDinfo reports them to be Prionco disks as does DVD Decrypter. Like Ritek nmanufactures for other labels, so does Princo.
