I'd go even one better.... put your photos on a DVD+R and booktype your drive to DVD-ROM so that more players will be compatible to that media! This way if you want to view your photos on gradma's DVD player, which is different than your, it should play just fine. No compatibility problems. here read all about booktyping:

http://k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php

if your drive can be booktyped then I would do it. You can also set Nero to do it automatically to your DVD+R media. Or other programs can do it for you, too. DVDDecrypter, download it here:

DVDInfo Pro:

oh, and a great program for you to put your photos on disk is PhotoDVD by VSO software:

now you're fully equipted to do the job right!

There is a strong body of evidence that rewritable phase change discs (DVD+RW, -RW, and -RAM) are far more stable than dye-based media. However, there are often problems with formatting software. If you intend to keep the digital files on the same computer using the same drives, the wisest thing is to store the same data on BOTH a DVD+/-R disc as well as a DVD+RW. Forget DVD-RW for data. That's a video structured disc forced to pick up data recording when DVD-RAM was still stuck in its cartridge.
