Hello,

I've got the subject drive in my NEC Versa E6000 laptop and cannot burn any CD-R's on it. I can burn CD-RWs and DVD+/-Rs but no CDs. I have checked in the forums and I know people have had problems with this drive, however all the threads I could trace were old and I hoped someone might now have a solution? I haven't found anything concrete anywhere. I've tried a number of different media and have managed to burn on some dodgy CD-Rrs I bought in China but haven't got any left. I bought 50 Base 52x CD-Rs which don't work when trying to copy in Windows using Nero or the rubbish sonic software that came with the laptop. Recently I had to create some back up CD's when restoring my laptop and they burned fine when operating in the computers restore mode - this looks like DOS. I presume there's some problem with the drivers etc in Windows but am no expert on this. Am determined to fix the problem though.

Has anyone got any ideas? Or have they solved the problem themselves.
