Hi all,

I'm fairly new to backing up DVDs, and I'm now getting to grips with DVD2DVD-R.
I recently redesigned the "DVDXCopy Successful Backups" site ( http://backuplist.dvdxcopy.com ) and thought that a similar one for DVD2DVD-R might be useful.
This is an extremely simple example of what the format could be:

Would that be of any interest to anyone? :)

Hi Oriphus :)

Another good forum is "DVDRHelp": http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/index.php
As far as my website is concerned, it doesn't exist. :)
I'm just trying to see how many people would be interested in it first. ;)
So far not many, lol. :D

Thanks for your reply, peter0110. :)

Have you tried the new DVD-R24s?
I have read that you need a 24" or bigger tv to use them to their full potential. Is it true?

hey herbsman, why you always gotta be a pecker head to all us newbies. I'm sure you were where we are at one time and if it weren't for someone holding your hand you wouldn't be where you are now.

I'm sorry, but I don't find Herbsman to be anything but sincere. Many newbies to message boards are unaware that caps are considered yelling.

I can also personally say that I appreciate Herbsman's style. He (I'm assuming he) helped me when I was a raw rookie at this. But rather than holding my hand, he sort of pointed me in the right direction and helped me learn for myself. To me, that kind of help is far more valuable than just telling me what to do. I now understand what I'm doing, and why I have to do it that way.

All the bruning info you need to start is here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php#dvd9dvd2one

I didnt rely on someone telling me how to do it jiggaman , I read guides and took a gamble perhaps on trusting one guide over another.
But at the end of it , it is as Ken says better if you learn w/out being walked thru it .

I have on occasion walked the odd 'newbie' (yes I was once there) thru thr process from start to finish because they asked in PM and they seemed sincere enough by saying that they had been trying for months and were thinking of giving it all in.

Anyway the main point I was tryiing to make in my last post is that all DVDXCopy related matters are supposed to be discussed at http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/
As told to everyone in a sticky thread by dRD [Da Boss]
Some choose to not see the wood for the trees , is that my fault ? ; ]-~

Hello herbsman :)

I think you misread peter0110's post.
If you read it again you'll see he was taking the mickey. :D
"USE DVD-r9 or DVD-R12
THEY CAN HOLD UP TO 9-10-12GIGABITES SO u CAN HAVE 2 IN ONE DVD." LOL
DVDXCopy to compile the whole movie on a DVD-R9??!! ;)

well, I've been trying to figure things out on this forum for about a week now and I have had only one person the whole time help me out and it's frustrating when people tell you that this is something anybody can figure out overnight. I still have no idea how to download and burn a movie. I use the software told to me to use and it hasn't worked it has only frustrated me more I have asked and asked for someone to tell me how to do it from start to finish. Someone told me the other day how to back up my dvd's and I greatly appreciated it. I finally did one but every other one I have tried since then hasn't worked. DVD2ONE doesn't recognize it after I used DVDDecryptor on it. I don't know about any of the other newbie's on here, but I figure that if we weren't asking questions this wouldn't even be a forum but a simple chat room. I would rather have someone on here that knows what they are doing tell me rather than have to spend a month reading through all of the previous posts to figure out the correct way to do it. I'm just tired of asking unanswered questions. I mean we know you pull a lot of rank in this forum, but please tell everyone how to do it, all you have to do is post one thread that explains everything and I think a lot of (US) newbies wouldn't be asking all these questions all the time. I'm not saying this angrily, just hoping that someone will understand what I'm going through and try to help me, as well as a lot of the other newbies on this forum out as well, the title is DVD-R for newbies, not advanced.

Well jiggaman.
Herbsman would have probably been knockin on ur door to advise you or help you but by calling him a pecker head - I think you may have blown it...

No need to be abusive by calling someone a pecker head, TOO many people are just diving in and posting threads BEFORE reading the forum rules or sticky threads.

Herbsman is only pointing out this fact - you see it is simple - you break the rules and the mods will ban you (so read them first)

Herbsman is a valued member - aswell as a Tiffose, so I take offense when newbies start abusing members, especially herbsman - he has been very helpful to me.

Don't forget alot of experienced members devote some of their spare time to helping out newbies for FREE - ok, if your still not happy and won't abide by simple rules then I would suggest ringing a hotline up......

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down

No one is going to help you Jiggaman, just try politeness.

Nobody here is your personal slave.

It has just been made a lot easier aswell by certain things being highlighted meaning they may be relevant to the particular process , especially if they keep getting mentioned in guides that you read

Hi all :)

For those of you who might still be interested in the original topic of this thread, I'm giving up on the idea.
Not enough interest was shown in it. ;)

ddlooping,

You are welcome to continue with the topic of this thread as you see fit, it is a worthy addition to our forums.

As a moderator I must bring Jiggaman back to reality, as this insulting behaviour is not an isolated incident with him.

Paul.
