xbmc and backup games in widescreen?

hi guys. right now i have my xbox hooked up to a widescreen HDTV using these cables: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-2b-77-3-49-en-15-component-70...
they work great on the original xbox dash, and i can play in high res and widescreen in all my original games. the problem is that xbmc isn't allowing me to set it to 16:9 and 480p. i have it enabled in the xbox dash, but all my backup games and xbmc are still in 4:3 480i. does anyone know how to fix this?
