My first time on the forum.

I hope someone can help. I purchased a sony handycam min DV HC22E. The software is picture package 1.5. I put this CD into my computer and my drive simply does not read the disk. My drive does show that there is a disk in the computer.
I have been to the software web site, which is useless, and have had no luck. My other CD's, games, audio, DVD's work fine. I have been on the microsoft web site and nothing seems to work.
I have borrowed another CD with the software on and again it does not work on my computer

I am using microsft windows XP service pack 2.

When i plug the camera in direct the computer does not recognise the new hardware.

Very stange, and very annoying. Has anyone got any ideas? Am i missing a file?

If someone has an answer, step by step will be appreciated.
