hello i recieved a slim ps2 and it seems to have troubles loading games.the ps2 boots up fine until it has to load a game. there is no mod or attempted mod. it dont load dvd based games as for cd based games it load up to a certain point and the system turns itself off. i took apart the ps2 and adjusted the laser things, no luck so i put them back. then i started to think, the power cord is the one for ps2. the slim ps2 needs 8.5 volts and like 5.0A or 5.6A or w/e and the ps1 is 7.5 volts and 2.0A. im wondering if this is the problem or not. maybe the ps2 dont work on lower voltage or the lower voltage damaged some componets in the ps2 over an ammount of time. i dont know if some one can help it would be great.
