My LG DVD recorder has lost some of the recordings

hi all, a very strange thing has happened.
My LG set top DVD recorder has lost about 5 of the previously recorded programs that were on the hard drive. I checked 2 weeks ago and they were there. then when I checked a few days ago, they have disappered. Mind you, there are other recorded files that were there and they are fine. As far as I can work out, all the ones that I recorded from TV are fine. The ones from my camcorder have gone whooosh!!!!
Has anyone seen this odd behaviour b4???
