What address are you using?
Make sure your settings are correct. First you need to decide on what you want Shrink to do with the output. Shrink can be set to open a burning program automatically, like Decrypter.

After you click the "Backup!" button, the Backup DVD menu opens. The first tab is the Target Device tab.

Here is a screenshot of mine. Please note that I have replaced Decrypter with ImgBurn which is the updated version of DVD Decrypters burn engine.

If you want Shrink to open Decrypter automatically to burn the DVD set the "Select backup target to:
ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter.

You can see that there are other choices available. You could have Shrink place the results in a hard disc folder. Then you could open a burning program and burn the files.

If you plan on burning with Decrypter, make sure you create an ISO image as that is all Decrypter can burn.

In your case I would select the ISO Image option, not using the automatic burning. After Shrink finishes, open Decrypter, select Mode > ISO > Write.

The reason I would have you do that is to see if there is simply a problem with the burn settings you are using. Shrink should always be able to write to an empty folder. Make sure you have a folder made up for this. My folder is on my desktop. Name it so you can easily recognze it. Mine is called Shrink_Movies.

Some folks are not aware how the auto burning process works. The first thing to be aware of is that Shrink cannot burn at all. It must use a burning program that is installed on the PC. The Target Device settings must be set to direct Shrink to open the correct program or to write either an ISO or video files to a hard drive folder.

Also note that there is a folder for temporary files. I have mine simply set as my C:\ drive. You can create an actual folder if you like for this.

Copying a -R to a +R should not be an issue at all. Make sure your burner is compatable with the media which most are nowdays.
