no piracy allowed on this site, if you want to talk about pirated games please take it somewhere else
If you want to play backup games, then you'll need a modchip or swap magic

Referring to them as backups will get you further around here ;)

yeah there's a very thin line between pirating games (which is illegal) and backing up games (which is legal if you own the original depending on where you are), and people don't like piracy here :)

Personally I'd say go for a modchip. It's superior to swap magic and easier to use, but it does come with a higher price tag. If you want a modchip then I'd say go with matrix infinity green dot or DMS4 Pro.
If you don't want to spend too much, go for swap magic, but some games will need to be rebuilt with swap magic, or have patches applied to get it to work, not many, but a few.

check out http://www.teammodders.com/ (if you are in the US - if not then you need to do a search in google), they sell chips as well as installation, and they have quite a good reputation
I got a matrix infinity, and it works perfectly for me. Also remember to get a laser fix if you want to get a modchip.

don't know much about it... can you give a link for the site? But personally, I'd go with one of the following:
- Matrix Infinity Green Dot
- DMS4Pro SE
- Crystal Chip

Ahh right, this chip, one of my friend has it and it works fine for him. If you are just after backups and non of the extras, yeah it'll work for you :)

yeah it'll be fine, and a laser fix is almost a must :) it's relatively cheap compared to games anyway, and if you don't have it you'll risk having your laser dying on you, which costs a LOT more than a laser fix

hi again..sry for the troubles.. i checked bout laser fix n found this.. can ya check if its true...
When you modify a slimline PS2 SCPH-700xx or SCPH-750xx (V12/V13/V14) then you should add this small pcb which limits the current to the coils of the laser. It could happen that the V12/V13/V14 Laser burns up after just one or two hours of gameplay. This happens to unmodifed V12/V13/V14 machines too! By adding this fix you can feel yoursef on the safe side after modding the nice slim PS2.
Note:
There are no laser issues with V1-V11 PS2 consoles. You dont need this fix if you have a V1-V11 PS2 console!
