thank you but, i tried this method already with ar max and hd advance. The only problem with this method is that the game i want to combine ar max has a system.cnf and system.ini i think both files are link in some sort of way and i tried changing one to syste1.cnf, and i tried changing both to syste1.cnf/ini. Still does not work for me. If anyone has had problem with this and found a way around it msg me.

@toeme
which game is it? ive been looking for games that have probs like that to see if i can fix them.
I think there is a way to do it with codebreaker 9.2 (basicly the same as my guide), but i think you need to download a cracked copy off the net for it to work off HDD. With CB 9.2 i dont think theres any need for hexediting the files, but a few changes need to be made.
1. Have a quick search with hexeditor for SYSTEM.CNF in the CB SLUS, if it doesnt find anything then do the following:
2. DONT change any of the game files names or delete ANY of them, add them to CD/DVD Gen in correct order.
3. Add CB9.2 files in correct order below game files.
4. Create image as normal, (not sure if you should put CB SLUS or game SLUS but it shouldnt matter)
5. Load up WINHIIP and add the image with the boot file set as SLUS_202.02 (codebreakers slus i think).
See if it works
Im not sure if that works or not but i think it will as i tried to work it out one time a while ago, before codebreaker was cracked so i couldnt get it to boot.
Also does Codebreakre have any folders or is it just a SLUS and a few dummy files?
@dan
where did you get your ps2 modded?

have a look on TradeMe there's quite a few installers, but I've heard some of the guys are quite dodgy...
Personally I think HDLoader works great, I looked at DMS4 a while ago too, but decided that HDLoader should catch up in terms of compatiblity, just takes a bit longer

Did you DL a cracked copy off the net, coz i think you need one. That method (above) was just expieremental atm ive still got to try it myself but it should have worked.
As for Grandia 3 could you open up the SYSTEM.ini in notepad and post its contents? it may or may not be linked to the SYSTEM.CNF, post the contents of that as well.

yea this file is connected to system.cnf, so at the top should i try changing [System] to [Syste1]. What does the codebreaker crack do anyways? Because i downloaded a torrent that has all the programs i need including codebreaker crack and armax

dunno what the crack does but the codebreaker people made some sort of copy protection that stopped a copy of it running from disc or HDD, its funny how they made a better lasting protection than sony.
But if thats all the .ini says it isnt connected to the SYSTEM.CNF in any way, all the CNF file does is point to the boot file which is the game SLUS. Just hexedit ARMAX SLUS for SYSTEM.CNF to SYSTE1.CNF 3-4 times and it should work.

have you tried it with other games? ARMAX takes a while to load. AS for sending me the game how big is it? im stuck with dialup (damn NZ phonelines) so large files are not good.

Lol, if I remember correctly last time you said you are in an area without broadband right?
Even with broadband... it's only 3.5mb, so downloading is pretty damn slow :(

yea i done this with onimusha dawn of dreams and it worked flawlessly. I was grateful but this game for some reason doesn't work. I suspect it has something to do with the system.ini. I just can't get this game to work with ar max evo. Ar max Evo turns on and i load my codes but then when i pres start game nothing happens. The Ps2 hdd lights up two times(the bottom part of the fat ps2, lights flicker) then nothing happens. I left it on for 15 mins and still nothing happens. Both of my backups are SLUS, so its NTSC version. it should be compatible.

ooh, that's to do with Telecom releasing the network so that more ISPs can provide broadband, unfortunately it's got nothing to do with rural areas and broadband :(
Just out of curiosity whereabouts are you ?

as for toeme im not sure, try some hdloader modes. Other than that i dunno what would cause it, you could try loading the game with no codes and see if it works.
