I'm using DVD decrypter to rip Bridge Over the River Kwai. It does fine till about the 4th VOB file and I get a read error. Regardless, this movie has 2 different sets of VOB's. It's like it's split in 2 parts. Example VTS_01_1.VOB and so on then there's another set VTS_01_2.VOB etc; They both are 1 half of the movie each. I'm having trouble reauthoring or putting them all together. Any ideas? I am probably going to have a rough time because of the errors anyway. But my question is in general, what to do to reauthor 2 different sets like this DVD has. Thanks so much.

did you tick the options box withing Decrypter thats says 'ignore read errors'
other than that i take it you selected all relevant main movie .VOB's with the main movie .IFO? or selected all files anyway ??

i've not tried this DVD you mentioned but my Dad has it (at least I think he does) so I will get round to checking it out at some point

First, I want to say, I'm honored to speak with a senior member. No, I did not check the "ignore read errors". This is the first one I've had trouble with. I backed up all the Bond's, Patton, which is 2:51 min long and Star Wars Episode 1 and 2. I got an error simular on Episode 1 but it burnt anyway. I hit the "retry" when it came up w/ error. It's all there on my drive and it plays fine in "My DVD". The Kwai DVD is an interactive disc and it has some weird stuff on it. As to all relevent files, this disc is split into 2 separate parts(2:41). Decrypter selects the 1st half but not he 2nd. I didn't try to manually select all the relevent files either. I tried to do each half separate and merge but it failed w/IFO Edit. This disc is a particular challenge! Again, I'm honored at any experienced feedback from you!
BTW, I have had great luck w/DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink 1.03. I did "View To A Kill" which was 7.8 gigs! It plays in my Zentith DVD/VCR combo unit and some others. It wouldn't play on some older ones.

okay I'd probably go for selecting all files using decrypter by :

MODE (tab) > File F > if only some files are highlighted then you select the others by holding down ctrl. and then selecting rest of the files > select destination and blah blah blah : )

hope this helps

Thanks herbsman. It worked fine this time. I'll tell what I did different, I checked the "ignore errors" box and when it did prompt me about one error, I hit cancel. I don't know why but it went on about it's business and I'm shrinking it now. I hit retry the last time. That's what I did on Episode-1(Star Wars) was hit cancel and it said something like "forcing decrypt".It's letting me choose the PGC cells fine and combine the 2 parts. Thanks!
