the obvious thing to do would be to look at the guide which is also availbe on afterdawn.com in the guides section
a range of guides are listed varying on the different program a user intend to use in compressing a DVD film to 700Mb
if u have any errors that occure during ur adventure in this compression exercise u can search through the other listed forum pages and found a reply to it ok safe peaceeeeeee

Basically those movies have been encoded by the best of the best - the release groups!! Also the afterdawn divx guides are a little bit out of date and dRD says they will be updated (We're still waiting mate, no more excuses!! tehehehehe)!

What's a release group? What do they have that we don't?

Most movies on the internet are released by release groups and trust me, they wont be easy to find and if you do find them on an IRC channel or something, they probably wont be very chatty!! lol

If you are looking to encode DVDS to DivX and you want the file size to be 700MN with awesome quality you may want to consider using NEODIVX..
i havent seen it mentioned very much in the forums but it is BY far the easiest program to use.
They no longer distirute the free version so you may want to search Kazaa for NEODIVX 9.2 CRYSTAL FUSION. I dont understand why more people dont use it. It is a simple click process. It does everything for you.
