I had been getting a security warning and whenever I opened IE6, I got either and "about" in the URL field or sometimes I would be taken to a "www.thesecuritypage.com". I could not log onto other sites. I saw a similar problem from someone else and ran smitfraudfix from safe mode. That seemed to get rid of the warning icon in the right hand side of the system tray, but I am still having trouble with IE opening other URL's. I can type in, for example, www.google.com, or try to go to one of my favorites and the little green boxes seem to be opening the new page (in addition, on the left hand side, bottom, I'll get a message that the new site is opening, but nothing ever happens. Here, I hope, is what I got when I last ran Hijack This. I am using Windows XP Media Center 2005 with all updates.
