Depends on if you have a modchip or not - if you don't then you need to buy USBeXtreme (it's a pressed version of USBAdvance), otherwise download USBAdvance

so after i dl that all i do is connect my hd to the slim after putting the game in the hd? sorry if im asking alot of questions im really new to this.

Have a look in http://www.hdadvance.com/, and look for instructions for USBeXtreme - slightly different, but the process to install games and HDD is the same

You can also get HD Advance/HD Loader 0.8A if you have a Version 12 or 13 slim, but it requires you to solder in one of two IDE hard drive add-ons for slims, either HD Connect or HD Combo(this one is better because the IDE hard drive is not exposed and has two fans cooling it down).
