My friend just bought a v14 ps2 recently, and the dealer said it was chipped with M7-Pro.

All was fine till last night. He told me he paused a game and left it to idle for 15mins. When he came back, the set jammed. So, he pressed reset but this happened:

Sony Screen appears and tried to load the game. It goes to black screen, NO PS2 Logo, NO RSOD, NO "No Data" screen. just black.

he's been trying for the past day or so and the same happens. ps2 tries to boot, but black screen.

any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Bad news, it wasnt the chip.

What else could it be?

Fuse? Bios chip? Graphics chip?

It anyone knows, please do point me to the source, as im unable to find out myself.

I just found out that the memory and controller ports have been affected. Something to do with the motherboard/power/fuse.

It can detect a wired controller, but unable to power up a wireless controller receiver.

It can detect a memory card, but 50% of the saves are read as corrupted.

any suggestions?

My suggestion is never buy from a guy who only gives you 1 day warranty.

I would say something burnt out while you had it paused for 15 minutes, although it shouldn't
It is a cheap-o chip as well so that may be the problem. If it has not overheat shut down it may cause problems.
