Duo 3 or Crystal for new slimline?

Hey guys, first time post here. Got a brand new ps2 (v14) and planning to have it installed with a duo 3 or crystal chip. I'm thinking about going with the duo 3 as its less expensive but does it have any BIG disadvantages as compared to a premium chip like the crystal? More importantly, does the duo 3 run the risk of being 'more likely' to burn out the ps2 laser earlier than with the crystal chip? Also, will a laser fix be required? Anyway, I hope you guys just give me your thoughts.

I bascially just want it to boot all media properly, maybe use some AR codes and thats cool with me. Thanks alot guys!

Depends on what you want to do, main advantage of crystal chip (that I can think of) compared to duo3 is that it can play backups online without doing anything to do the game, otherwise I think thy are more or less similar

AR should work with all modchips :)

Hmm, I've been told that the DUO 3 doesn't have 100% boot success rate and would sometimes require rebooting of certain PS2 backus. I've also been told it doesn't display some PS1 backups properly. Any truth to these claims?

sorry can't tell you that as I don't have that chip... but I'd spend the money and get a good chip (e.g. CC) if you want to be sure :)
