I have a question about virtual drives that have been created by Alchol 120%. If I mount an image onto the virtual drive, and it installs without any problems, can I un-mount the image, and will the game play?
And if a game has two or more images, can i just mount them on seprate drives?
Thank you for your help.

Most likely no. Virtual stealth drives are "mainly" for playing pc protected images (games) such as Safedisc and SecuROM with emulation. If you have a game that has 2 images (cd's), then install first then mount the "play disc".

Its obvious that you want to know about mounting those games on an emulator because they are the most 'available' on IRC, where i assume you get your stuff, right? So do I...
Oh and I discovered that Battlefield 1942 also works with Alcohol. You can mount two CDs on seperate drives and play them, so long as it asks you which drive the play disc is on, if it can't find the play disc itself.
I suggest you stick with Alcohol because its simple to use and you don't have to spend money on CD-R's.
You have no need to know what the cd protection is when the majority of the games you're talking about come with cracks in the Crack folder on one of the CDs which you can copy from the CD to the installation directory on your hard drive. If the game requires a serial key, then there are millions of places on the Web to get keygens or just text files with a serial on. I wont say where, just use the best search engine on the web which I won't link to either; we'll call it Goog|e,
Or you can use _<(blank), but I dont think its as good. If you dont know what site I just said, think of Terminator 2, then you can try ___<(blank) and then the letter that is between R and T. :). I dont link to illegal stuff, eh Shoey?

You use both "images" to install the game (mounted), then leave the Safedisc cd protected image or "play disc" mounted and unmount the other image as it is just a data cd.

Oh, so you're saying I don't need to know what cd protection is on the cd or image to play the game? Alcohol 120 virtual stealth drive is designed for "true images" of a protected cd (Safedisc, SecuROM or Laserlock). If one had a "no cd patch" then it's quite obvious you don't need a virtual stealth drive (dvd\cd-rom emulater). This is the "easy way out" and you are lost trying to figure out how to backup cd protection with the appropiate software and hardware, which isn't that difficult.

As long as it is the original image of the protected cd(s), use Alcohol 120 for now but if you find the backup won't play emulated using the virtual stealth drive(s) then more than likely the game is blacklisted. This is where you switch to Daemon Tools m8.

Shoey, read my previous post, edited of course.
The part about Alcohol and the other about CD Cracks are now seperate topics, as intended in the first place.

Obviousley....
Quote: You were saying?
The thread posted by darkr182 is asking about virtual drives and if he\she can un-mount any image and still play the game. We're not talking about cracks, serials, keygens, no cd patches, so forth, so on.... Stick to the topic chippeh!
