Use PS1 Gameshark and parallel port to make Independence exploit?

I have a Gameshark for the PS1 and it has a parallel port in the back. Is it possible to put a memory card into my PS1 and download the Independence Exploit onto it through the parallel port for use on the PS2? Or is there some kind of formatting issue?

I managed to load my BOF 4 saves on my PS2, so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

yes well I know you can use both PS1 and PS2 MC on a PS2, what I'm saying is can you use PS2 MC on a PS1, because it sounds that's what you are trying to do
