I have been using the Swapmagic with a slidecard. and now my PS2 tray doesnt come out all the way only about 1'in out and it also doesnt go in all the way neither. if i buy a flip-top would my ps2 still work? or would i need to buy another thing like a new disk tray motor? thanks in adavance.

you should be able to use a flip top and not use your tray - this isn't a fix for the tray but it'll mean you can still use your PS2

while you install your fliptop, you might want to turn the power on for the PS2 and see if you can see the cause for the tray being jammed, it might just be something that's stuck somewhere... if not you'll be stuck with the fliptop only

I have my PS2 open but i dont know how to remove the disk tray to see what the problem is. can you help?

hmm sorry can't help you there, it's been too long since I opened an old PS2. Search for the pictures on the net, I know there are diagrams floating around, just have to find them :)

ive had my tray get stuck a few times, all i do (prob not that good) is grabb my pliers and rip it out. but if you would rathertake it apart properly then ounce you have taken the main part of the case off, there is 2-4 screws on the lid of the drive, then there will be 2 more screws on the bottom left that hold the tray down. Remove them and the tray will come off.

dont really rip it out, more just a constant force and it comes free. I just cant be bothered opening the console anymore, done it enough adjusting the laser over and over. Although its been going alright for a while now.
