i want to install a new copy of windows xp sp2 but i have my c drive in 2 partitions c and e can i still do this without removing the partitions will it just pick them up and keep them the same

you can reinstall it to your current partition and overwrite you current one, or you could install it to your E: drive, but i suggest copying your files to your other drive incase it deletes them.

In addition to Andrew's information, as long as there's at least one partition, XP's setup will call the first one it sees C. So don't have any USB drives or flash drives connected at the time of install.

During setup, you'll see both your partitions. You can delete them (including the first one), combine them...or leave them as is and select the first partition to install. If you already have an OS on that partition, delete it then recreate it...or format it using the Quick Format option.

i redone my windows and i think i messed up its maybe because i did not remove devices from my pc before i done it .when i reinstalled windows a wizard came up instead of just going through the normal process of installing windows it had 2 options upgrade recommended or
new advanced i run new advanced then it let me istall like normal but it tried to install the windows on the e drive so i changed it to c and then it warned me about putting windows in the same drive as the other but it did not give me the option to format so now i have 2 windows on the same drive can you please help
