is there a specific harddrive type that u need for an xbox. if so could someone lpzz specify the type of harddrive needed?

I believe so. Check out the tutorial on how to upgrade your hdd with a softmod (in this forum). It will tell you what hdd's are compatible (I believe...there should be a link at the bottom of the tut).
