can i burn a ps2 game to a DVD+RW!! PLEASE HELP!!

sorry if this has already been asked-
i really would like to burn ps2 games, but ive heard that ps2 only read DVD-R. i also heard taht it depends on the version of ps2 you if it will read DVD+RW or not.
i have a v4 ps2

u need a modchip, and yes yours might play dvd+r, try burning a movie on a dvd+r and play it, if it works, then u are lucky and u have a ps2 that plays dvd_r.

dvd-r plays on all ps2's
dvd+r plays on some v4, all v5-8

i am going to burn a movie and see if it plays on my ps2, but if it doesnt work, could i just put in a newer drive in my ps2 because i heard the reason that old ps2s dont play +r or +rw media is because of an older drive
