I tried installing the Key where it goes between the 1mm gap near the spring, on the top left but I can't get my discs to spin.

Is it possible to remove that metal block which covers the sensors without opening the ps2?

shouldn't you be able to remove the stuff the same way you installed it?

Also the disc not spinning is a sign that one of the keys is not installed properly (I'm guessing the top left one - that's the one everyone has problem with)

The metal block was added by $ony to prevent the original Magic keys to work.

Hold on, which metal block thing? Also which magic key are you trying to install? Sorry but there's way too many versions of that thing floating around the net, it's a bit confusing without a link to a picture :)
