HELP!!! How to back up DOA ultimate HELP!!!

Ok im average at the xbox thing. I do everything soft mod. I have evox dashboard. I used xboxhdm to get a 60 gig maxtor drive to work. It works like a real xbox hard drive. I used DVD to Xbox to back up doa ultimate (both disks)
Here are the symptems.
*I load the game from my hard drive the screens turn black
*I load from cd the screen goes black.
pretty much the screen goes back

Now i tried to rename the doa2.xbe file to default and move the original default.xbe to a backupfolder i made so i would not lose it. That didnt work.
Im not going to burn it to disk becase the original disk i have does not work as i said above.

so to sum it up i need to know has anyone had this poblem (black screen when trying to start DOA ultimate on a softmodded xbox) and is there a sulution to this problem.

i dont know about evox but i know unleashx does,but december should be fine,what softmod package did u use?? sid 3 or 4,4.5???

i used SOFTMOD INSTALLER DELUXE and it was the uptodate in december so i dont know if that was 2 or 1.... i think 2 (mechassalt)

so what do u think it is dashboard or some thing the game has on it. Becase i backed it uup fine. Could it be dvd to xbox??? Mabe try another program?? Any sugestions

i think unleashx is the best dash, i have never had a problem like that where it send me back to black screen,do you have the latest version of DVD2Xbox?? try and get that....

I found out the problem. It is that DOA ultimate has a protection or check if u will. When the game starts it check the harddrive and i have a maxtor 60gb so its not the original. Their for will not start. I pluged in my originall that was softmodded the same way and works fine

DOA ultimate checks the hardware for modifications.
