Try removing and reinstalling Shrink, then go to Edit > Preferences and make sure the "Enable overlapped I/O" is disabled. It may be greyed out.

What other DVD programs do you have installed?

That error means there is a problem with the disc.

Here are a few things to try:

1) Clean the disc
2) Check that the region has been set on your burner
3) make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner
4) Take the disc back to the shop

EDIT: Dialysis beat me to it

I get I/O errors in DVD Decrypter, and I get an unable to read error in DVDFab Decrypter. When using Ripit4Me, I got a "This program has preformed an illegal operation error".

I've tried multiple DVD's and still get the error.

Sorry everybody. New problem, kinda. The DVD RW drive jumper is set to master, while my CD ROM drive is set to slave. When i unplugged the IDE cable from the CD ROM drive, I suddenly stopped getting I/O errors. So clearly the CD ROM drive is interfering with the DVD RW drive. What do I do?

The drive at the end of your data ribbon should be set to master and the intermediate drive should be set to slave...make sure they are set accordingly.
