You have an extraordinary amount of processes running. For a healthy system I've recommended no more than a total of 30-32. Slimmed down, around 18-20.

Remove these entries from MSCONFIG. (Start run, msconfig)

eHome.
Java updates (jusched.exe)
MS updates from Office etc.
You have two AV programs running, Symantec and LiveCare...get rid of one of them.
You have two software firewalls running, Norton and LiveCare...get rid of one of them.
You have more than one anti-malware programs running, ewido, LiveCare, Windows Defender ...etc. Disable them at startup, run them when you need them.
HP boot optimzer. Useless program. (HPBootOp.exe)
HP printer monitor programs. (HPWuSchd2.exe)
MSN Messenger. Open Messenger, sign in and go to your General options and uncheck the auto start box.

and is that a RAM defrag program you got running? RAM_XP.exe?? Uninstall it. They are useless and the percentage of defragmentation (.1 to .5%) doesn't compare to the program running in RAM itself.

Though you may have paid to use Symantec (Norton)...I highly recommend you uninstall it and clean your registry of all Norton/Symantec entries. Look at your running list...a serious system resource hog.

Then, when that's all done. Get MemTest86 ISO, burn it to CD and restart your computer. Long beeps usually indicate a memory stick problem. Check each stick by itself and in each memory slot. Look for errors in the program list...easy to recognize. Make sure you unplug the PC and keep yourself grounded (touch the metal case) when removing the ram chips.

I've found their effectiveness to be marginal.
However, a good one at a fair price is System Mechanic 6.
Of course, there are quite a few programs that claim to be able to similar feats as system mechanic that are free ware. i haven't tried any of the free ones, personally though.
