is it worth buying Sony DVD-rw discs that are 2x?

DVD 2x

They are offering these DVD-RW at Amazon: 25 spindle at 12.99. I'm a complete newbie and need to know if I can use these for copying DVDs, will they play on DVD players or just on computers. I realize 2x is slow but my computer is less than dazzling, so I don't mind the wait as long as it plays on a DVD player as well as a computer. Thank you so very much for your assistance.

You can use them, but it seems a lousy deal. For a couple of bucks more, you can get a 50 packs on sale just about anywhere.

You post is misleading. The title says CD-RW discs, and you talk about DVD players. Big difference in the two.

The DVD-RWs would most likely not be compatible with your dvd playeer, only your computer. -rws dont play in ahrdly any dvd players out there. If you want some good media cheap go to Best Buy and get a 50 Pack of - or +r Verbatim disks for 14.99. (If your burner supports booktyping +rs to DVD-rom i would reccommend the +rs). You can booktype with IMGBurn (Free Program).
