this is the first time i have ever gotten this massage. and this time i do not know wat to do. i have gone to the microsoft website and asked for this and not found much info. just some info about the type of error massage during the first start up.

try making you hd first in the boot list. If there isn't anything in the cd drive then there is nothing, thus unmountable boot volume, even if you had it that way before, try it.

Also that blue screen is called the BSOD or BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.

Looks like your boot sector ( the very first bit of your drive) has got corrupted.
You can try copying it all onto your friends computer by attaching your harddisk in his PC ofcourse, then deleting all the partitions, and repartitionig the entire HD. Then format all your drives, and install your OS again.
Obviously this process will take a hell a lot of time, but I don't know any other way to do it.
If you want, before repartitioning, you can just try formatting the primary drive, and reinstalling your OS on it. But I don't suggest it, as if it dosen't work, you will be wasting a lot of time.
It's your pick.
