these disc lightscribe really light and i use the extended contrast utiliy as well should i just stick with the verbatim ones???

Do the Verbatim ones end up darker? I ask because all I've ever used is HP and I do think it is light, no matter what I do(use the contrast utility, bold fonts...).

If you saved your file, you can burn a second or third time to improve contrast.

Try to use the newer Lightscribe 1.2 discs and also make sure your software and drivers are up to date. The newer discs will be labeled 1.2 on the packaging. The newer discs burn faster and image with higher contrast.

Yes, I am using the 1.2 discs, as well as the contrast utility(using "best" print mode). I have run a couple discs thru twice but it really doesn't make all that much difference.

The original poster makes it sound like the Verbatims end up being darker. I picked some up, on the way home from work, so I'll run one of them thru and see if it looks any different.

you re lightscribe a disc??? thats nice yes these r 1.2 discs and yes my software is up to date and all my other stuff if up to date as well my firmware and the whole 9 yards ehh ok ill keep that in mind to re lightscribe if they come out light THX and yes the verbatim DVD+Rs to lightscribe darker at least for me they do

make the image into black and white / gray scale.. then darken the image
