As said in the title i need help in setting up programs from my ps2

at the moment i've installed a dms4 ezi lite modchip for my v7 ps2. I've also got a compatiable maxtor hard drive installed but now i need a bit of guidance

From what i've read i need to install programs onto the memory card so i have the following questions.

If i wanted to able to boot backups, play movies and run emulators how should i do it and what are the best programs to do it. I've done xbox modding before but this has left me dizzy

any help would be appreciated

Did you flash your chip with the correct BIOS?
that is the first step.
http://www.teamtoxic.com.cn/

Then you need HD Advanced 3.0 disc. This is what loads things from the HDD and i think can also format it. Or some kind of memory card exploit, but i do not know much about those.

If you were going to get a hard drive you should have done your research first and bought the DMS4 EZI Pro and not the Lite
Then after flashing that with the ToxicOS you would have had everything needed to run a hard drive, format it, install & delete games, a built in cheat device, elf program launcher and so on.

The chip itself, after you flash it with ToxicBIOS, will play back up games from disc, including emulator discs. Back up or original movies will play on an unmodded system.

Well originally i ordered the pro version and then the website said they didn't have the chip anymore and then sent me the lite version at a reduced price.

I assumed to my misfortune that the difference with memory size is just like the xbox meaning i am left with only being able to load one os.

Is there not a way to run the toxic os off the hard drive. Also i've heard that hd advance can be run off the HD is this true?

No, the Lite version will only run on ToxicBIOS
The Toxic OS is only for the pro version so you will get no OS at all.

If you were not going for the HDD then the Lite version would work just fine for most people as it will play back up discs just fine.
But the OS is what contains all the extra features, like the one's for the HDD.
So you are pretty much stuck now with the same options as people who use swap discs, HD Advanced 3.0

are there not programs that have similar options to the toxic os that i can load onto a memory card or hard drive

the problem is i was rushed into buying the chip and ended thinking ps2 modding was similar to xbox modding where the BIOS or OS was not as important as long as you could a decent program to work such as the xbox dashboard xbmc

well, i think there are things called memory card exploits that may be able to allow you to use the HDD. But i have not really researched them to far. So check into that. And possibley if you can "aquire" a copy of HD Advance, burn it to disc, then load it on the HDD and use it from there, not sure that is possible.
