hey all you afterdawn people out there, can someone help me please? :)

I want to try and see if i can copy some of my games to my old hard drive and make them work on PS2 without having to BUY/PAY FOR anything except a network adapter and hard disk which I already have.

Ok what I did is i downloaded winhiip and formatted the 8.4Gb disc as PS2 format. Then I copied my ps2 game - simpsons hit and run onto the disc. I then took it out of my computer, set the jumper settings to "master" and got my network adapter and plugged it into the PS2. I installed the network adapter for the first time with the network adapter disk but then i can't find anything to do with hard drives on it. So that didn't work and I reset the PS2 and looked in the system browser and still nothing (im not sure where its meant to be)
so I downloaded HD Advance 3.iso off Emule - a filesharing program and burnt it to a CD-R, the file is about 4mb (is this right). I went and put it in my playstation 2 and as usual for most things it says "non PS2 format disc" or something. where do I go from here without paying for a mod chip etc. ??? I am willing to try stuff like disc swapping using a homemade slide card etc.

Read the sticky - you can't play games without paying for anything, and I doubt that HDD is compatible with HDAdvance/HDLoader anyway

what about the "memory card exploit" ??? I've read somewher that that's "free"

and sorry im a noob where is the sticky? plz link me :)

and if I have:
- a dvd burner that can burn ALL formats, dual layer, -/+, RAM etc.
- DVD-R's and CD-R's
- Network adapter
- 8 Gb Hard drive that fits in my PS2
what would be the cheapest way to get my backup discs to work?

stickies are at the top of each section, they are the one with bold titles.

You need a PS1 (original) disc to use the MC exploit, read here: http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=easyexploit.html

cheapest way is probably to get swap magic (again, sticky for info)

so even if you can do the memory card exploit its still going to cost you money because you CANNOT do anything without a swap magic disk or something similar??

oh and i thought i read somewher that if u have a PS1 disc (which I have), you can use that to boot your PS2...??

I'm looking for info on this too. So can we use hdloader using mc exploit? Provided the PS2 isn't chipped and no swap magic.
