Backed up Minotaur ! And it seems to play great on the Computer ! When I tried to play it on the Liteon 5005 it get's to the menu and when you select play it goes into stop mode ! Every now and then I run across DVD's with Menu troubles ! I found a Cure in this case ! In the menu where it says Scenes Select the first scene& and the entire movie will play like it should ! if you play it from there ! Good luck & Good Movies Ciao!

Good tip thanks for the advice. I had the same problem with a xbox game backup; had to start with a save that placed you past the first level. May I reccommend changing the title of the thread so people would be more likely to run across your solution to the problem you had and learn how to get around these problems in the future.

Are you ripping the disk to your hard drive, and then performing deep analysis, and High Quality Error Compesation? Its a must for a good back up.

I've had lots of problem back ups and never thought to try this solution, I always just tried encoding and burning again.
I will say that nothing plays burnt DVD's better and more reliably than my modded X BoX, not even my pc. If you've heard your X Box read a game? Its makes sence. I just hope DVD players will become as forgiving.

@Bigtoxy69....... that movie is an old movie... maybe it's the original disk that was scratched or something and when ripped it caused DVD structure problems. what program did you use and did it play ok from the hard drive (if you ripped it). I always check with the ripped movie on the hard drive to make sure that there isn't any DVD structure problem when I do a full backup. I usually do MOVIE ONLY when ever I back up my DVDs. Only sometimes do I do a full back up.

Looks nice. My Dell was a year old in March, I've got the 19 inch screen, but a 52 inch HDTV. Do you have to get special disks for light scribe? Hope not, I'm in the market for a new DVD-RW drive myself, my factory samsung dvd rom is reading really slow now.

yes you buy lightscribe disks. they don't cost too much more than printables! Many members here like LG, Lite-on, BenQ, Plextor, NEC, and I'm sure I'm leaving out others. I like the BenQ and Plextor drives.... that's my next toy, that and an LCD TV Sony Bravia for my bedroom wall. Right now the 52" will have to do.
