I have a full tv series in 13 .avi files, each file is around 350mb in size. I opened Nero to burn them hoping that they would all JUST fit onto a data dvd disk but unfortunately for me they are a tiny fraction over the disk limit. All the files together are 4552mb in size and the limit is 4483mb. It would be really crappy for me to have to put the last episode on another disk for the sake of a few mb's. How can I make these files fit the disk?

Cheers

Since you're just a little short this method may not reduce the quality by much. In Vision save to your hard drive instead of burning. Then open those files in Recode to compress the little extra needed. Recode will compress and then burn (just set your drive as the back up target).

You can try and compress one of the AVI files - try VirtualDub - might do what you need:

You can also try bying a 8.7GB dvd disk, but check and see if your burner supports 8.7GB

I would just put the files onto a DVD+R 8.5gb dvd disk but my xbox (which i will be playing the files on) wont read dvd+ disks. And about the virtual dub post..I hate virtual dub, its too complicated to use and it takes forever to peform tasks on my computer.

virtual dub, i know what u mean, but it would solve ur problem, hey, its not like u have a lot of other series of movies witch u want on one a dvd disk, just do it this once.

And i know one day u will get tha same problem, but its not like u have to do this every day.

Hi there,

I'm not sure all DVD Player will like DVD-R DL media.

DVD+R DL can be bootype to DVD-ROM and should play in most if not all DVD Player.

My 2 cents...

take the last episode and use Nero recode to convert it to Nero digital, making it smaller and should be able to fit. then take all the other eisodes plus the one you just recoded, and voila!

How do i do this with Nero Recode? It only seems to be dvd folders Nero recode wants to take and not .avi files.
