Hey I was trying to back up a movie and encountered an error message. I first encountered the message on first trying to back up the movie, but then I got another copy of it and got the same message. It just says:

"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid data in file "C:\THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"

Can anyone please help me with this / tell me what it means?

Hi smiles
Shrink can't handle this one by itself. Reason you receive that error.
So here's some options for you:
°Run AnyDVD in the backround (free 21 day trial - http://slysoft.com)
°Rip with DVDFab Decrypter (free) 1st then open those files in Shrink and process as usual. http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
°Or try the new one RipIt4Me (free). Here's a guide w/ all the links to download the program too.

what up smiles21,

if you go the route of DVDFab decrypter to rip to HDD then i would suggest using VobBlanker before using shrink.
in most cases u don't have to run vobblanker before shrink.
but if you get an error while using shrink u could use vobblanker to fix the problem
also it only takes around 5 minutes to do

You don't need all that, just use the latest version of DVDFABDECRYPTER which removes the copyright protection and rips the files to your hardrive. This is why you had the error with shrink. Once the files are on your hardrive, then you can use dvdshrink to open the files and burn to disk.

Okay so before I download DVDFab Decrypter, just wanna make sure that its all safe and legit and won't give my computer viruses etc! I figure you guys wouldn't suggest something to me that would, but just to be on the safe side :)
